NSS

            The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian governments sponsored flagship for public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. The scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year in 1969. The motto of NSS “ NOT ME BUT YOU” aims at developing student’s personality through community service. NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community (esp. Villages) linkage. The college has one unit offering 100 seats for student volunteers registered under Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University. The college ensures five one day camps and one seven day-night special camp every year for the students to initiate student involvement in social issues. Presently the NSS Unit is coordinated by Dr Sangeeta Kaintura (Program officer) Assistant professor, Department of English. .
